imageAs some of you know I worked in HIV and STI/STD prevention for 21+ years. Some of that included organizing teams to target areas where those most at risk of contracting HIV, STIs or Viral Hepatitis hung out. I spent many hours on the street getting to know sex workers, addicts, and the gay, bisexual and transgender youth and adults who were either just socializing, cruising or purchasing or selling sex. Life for those who were poor, thrown out of their homes for being gay or had runaway from hostile and abusive home environments.

This report sheds light on a common problem where LGBTQ youth, particularly if they are African American or Latino, are routinely stopped for no reason under New York’s stop and frisk policy.
